Just wanted to put a formal introduction out there. I'm Heather and a transplant to Northern Va/DC area. I have lived all over the USA, and have been blessed to see a lot of this great land.
I have a very close relationship with my family and have wanted to reconnect with a culture that my grandfather was able to live and experience as he himself was full blooded Native. Unfortunately he died when I was very, very young so I feel a great loss at the experiences and culture I missed out on. I am only 1/8th dna'd Native on both my paternal and maternal sides, but have generally identified with my predominatley ANGLO relatives as my coloring unlike my siblings reflects my caucasian heritage.
I really don't have romanticized notions that some seem to display from watching movies, I have a thirst for knowledge, and crave to reunite with my roots and learn more behind the culture that some of my beloved ancestors had the honor to be a part of.
