Hi Squinto,
you're right of course, it's ridiculous to say I'm brand new, especially at my age. It was my lame attempt at humour, I suppose I'm still a little nervous. Chatrooms and message boards are not my usual hangout online...mostly I spend my online time answering student queries, editing their drafts or emailing family in Scotland. When I made up my mind to join this site a few days ago I was excited but also a little embarrassed because this is the type of things my students do and I wondered if it was stupid of me since I wasn't a teenager or even in my 20s anymore.

I'm probably nervous that I'll make obvious mistakes like pissing people off unintentionally. Or look too eager and desperate....of which I'm neither.

I'm happy to be here, happy to talk to anyone and everyone, have a laugh and enjoy my latest decision :)
