Blood ties

My bloood is your blood,
and your pain is my pain,
No matter how far away you are,
I can still see you right beside me
you fit so perfectly under my wing.

As I put my arm around you once again,
and tell you everything is ok
I watch in horror as you push me away.
You are fading and I reach out
Only to grab nothing but the cold air

Suddenly I realize something,
the person I was hugging was a stranger
I do not have the strength to shed one tear.

My blood is your blood,
your pain is my pain,
but when will it matter to you?
