Blocked emails? Just because I'm in Denmark?!

Ok, here's the deal. I send an email, it ends up in a "black hole". Is anyone experiencing this? It's frustrating to say the least. How am I supposed to write something to someone when the thing practically jams every time I do. O.o Furthermore, I can't even leave mini-messages to some members. It's getting weird, I'll tell ya. :-/

Thanks for your comment.

First, we just wanted to make sure everyone knows that all email messages are delivered to the recipient, and they do not fall into a 'black hole'.

The only exception to this is if a spam filter is triggered...and if that happens you get a notice on your screen when you attempt to send the message, letting you know your message was not delivered.

What is happening though, is that email messages from members in Countries that are not in the recipient's 'Allowed Country' list go into the BLOCKED folder and not into the NEW MESSAGES folder. Since 'alerts' about new messages only go out for those messages going into the NEW MESSAGES folder, members are not actively notified of the email in their BLOCKED folder.

Separately, some members may think that since messages are in the BLOCKED folder, that that means the messages are spam...which is not the case.

Based on your comment, we have added two ** next to the BLOCKED FOLDER, with the associated description now appearing in the bottom of the Email Management Center:

"**Email messages appearing in the BLOCKED folder are from members in Countries you have not added into your 'Allowed Countries' list. If you are open to messages from members in other Countries, make sure you update your 'Allowed Countries' list appropriately."

We hope that this helps to remind members why the BLOCKED folder is there, and that it causes members to review the messages in their BLOCKED folder more regularly.

Hopefully this change will lead to members being more active in maintaining their 'Allowed Country' list.
